Cookies Policy

1. What are the cookies?

"Cookies" are small files containing information that a Web site (specifically the Web Server) store on the computer/Tablet/mobile phone of a user, so that each time the user connects to the site, the last to retrieve this information and to offer the user services concerning these information . A typical example of such information is user preferences on a Web page, as declared by the choices made by the user to this site (e.g. selecting specific "buttons", searches, advertisements, etc).

2. Which law applies?

Cookies are governed by the e-privacy Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC (which has been incorporated into Greek law by law 3471/2006) as expressly provided in the Privacy Regulation 2016/679 Recital 173.

In accordance with applicable law N3471/2006 (view article 4 par. 5 of the act as amended by section 170 n 4070/2012) "The installation of "cookies" is only permitted with the consent of the user and after proper updating."

Therefore, during the first visit of a user on the website www.emek.gr pop-ups appear to the visitor/user to signify his consent to the installation of cookies specifically mentioned and the purpose of which is not functional, which aim at the improvement of products and services presented on the website such as: user rating or evaluation of products and services, ordering of free samples, discount or not printing coupons, connecting with social media, configuring devices audio and video playback adapting of information on personal preferences of the user, cookies statistical analysis regarding the number of visitors to the site and the number of pages viewed without direct identification of user, advertising cookies to collect information for purposes of Internet advertising carried in some general categories or areas of interest, of the user looking at the websites that he sees and the links chosen by other websites and emails from the website that opens and links that selects from those choosing ads based only on data that does not allow the direct identification of the user.

There are «cookies», which are appreciated by the article 29 Working Party as technical-operational necessities for making the connection to the website or for the provision of Internet service. For which the law does not require prior consent.

  •  "Cookies" are necessary to identify and/or maintain content entered by the Subscriber or user during a single connection (session) on site throughout the duration of that connection. (For example such "cookies" are necessary when filling out an online form by the user).
    In the same category the "persistent cookies" are included, that are installed for the same purpose and last for a period of a few hours.
  •  “Cookies”, which are required for the authentication of the Subscriber or user to services that require authentication
  •  "Cookies" that are installed with the purpose of security of Subscriber or user, such as for example "cookies" that identify repeated unsuccessful attempts to sign in to a user account on a particular website.
  •  "Cookies" with multimedia content, such as flash player "cookies" during a connection (session) on a site. Such are for example "cookies" that are installed with the showing of a video on the site that the user has visited.
  •  “Cookies” which are necessary for the realization of the load distribution technique (load balancing) to a link on an Internet page.
  •  “Cookies” that “remember” the options of the Subscriber or user of the website presentation (e.g. "cookies" concerning the choice of language or the presentation of search results in a Web page).
  •  "Cookies" that are installed through add-ins (plug ins) social networking sites and involve the sharing of content between the certified members who have already signed in (logged in).

4. How to check cookies

You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer, and you can set most browsers to prevent the installation of cookies. However, in this case, you may need to manually adjust some preferences each time you visit a website, and also it is possible that some services may fail to operate.
